Concerto di Natale:
A Musical Gift to the Timisoara Community
„Concerto di Natale” represents a celebration of our gratitude towards the Timisoara community through an exceptional musical event. It is a gift to the inhabitants of the city on the Bega River, who have welcomed and integrated us with open arms.
In this concert, Italian and local artists collaborate to create a memorable show, offering an evening full of emotion and musical beauty.
„Concerto di Natale”, now in its 16th edition in 2023, represents a success story that has earned recognition over time.
Set against the splendid backdrop of the Millennium Church, the Christmas concert becomes a unique and special event due to the emotional transparency of the selected music, the originality of programs with both technical and emotional impact, and the presence of the orchestra and choir, composed of musicians from the city’s most prestigious musical institutions.
Its diverse repertoire spans from the Baroque period to the 20th century, including the „extra-cult” realm of pop music, where Maestro Cannata’s arrangements create sonorous climaxes full of impetuous energy.
Our concerts are typically recorded and broadcasted by Romanian Television, RADIO Timișoara, and other significant private radio and television broadcasters.
The story of Concerto di Natale began in the ’90s when Maestro Enrico Cannata formed the first youth orchestra, „Camerata Instrumentală Timișoara” bringing together students from the National College of Music and the Faculty of Music in Timișoara.
Today, this concert of the Italian community is considered one of the main cultural events in Timișoara, also serving as a tribute to Romanian friends who warmly received and integrated the Italian community.

The Boot
The work, from 2003, was created by Ştefan Călărăşanu. It was exhibited in a public place, in Unirii Square in Timisoara for the first time. During one night, a few months after exposure, vandals dropped it to the ground. The artwork broke into three pieces, and Ştefan Călărăşanu very embittered had it transported in front of his workshop in Timisoara, to repair it. But for years he did nothing, perhaps because the grief for his work, offended by the ignorance of some, was stronger than the desire to give it life again. One day, Gianluca Testa, saw the work lying down and wrapped in weeds.
It occurred to him to buy it and give it to his father, Dr. Vinicio Testa, who now rests in the cemetery of Cercemaggiore, on the condition that Ştefan Călărăşanu repaired it by highlighting the signs of the violence suffered. And so it was. After many vicissitudes, the boot was transported to Cercemaggiore and placed on the property of the Testa family.
